Why are my periods always late and irregular?

Ask your mother if her periods are like that, or even ask female relatives on your father's side. If it runs in the family, it's normal for you. My friend gets only 4 - 5 periods a year without any "seasonale" pills. her mother is the same way. There is no one way we are all supposed to be. You have to find what is normal for you and get used to that so that when you are older you can keep track of how things change and let your doctors know about it. See a gynecologist anyway. Your doctor sounds a little out of it. Gynecologists know a lot more about women's "plumbing" than regular docs.
